me: Kevin Mitnick should challenge Jesus to a triathlon.
Bean: Mitnick would win... by default. The cross would slow Jesus down.

"You'll come out of the house at five in the morning, walk down to the 7-11 buy a cup of coffee and a newspaper, and someone will go, 'you're, you're uhh...' and you'll go aaghhh... I am, fuck! and run screaming home and then just get back in your house and try to forget that. It's like a reminder of who you are and who's going to listen to this music you're playing in your little room. It doesn't matter, it just doesn't matter."
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam

"Life is a bitch so fuck her." I really wanted to suck your cock but I'll be on your website instead.

Interview by Ryan Wasoba of Riverfront Times
Do you think that you would like your band if you weren't in it?
-
I think I would. I hope I would. Yeah, I definitely would. I mean, of course because I've always wanted to do exactly what I want to hear. It's like how everybody's their own radio station. You choose what you play and listen to. And when I'm around the house I have my own radio on, which means I'm putting different records on the stereo. And once in a while, because of that, I get a little itchy and sit down and play guitar myself and get into my own thing for an hour or two and then listen to somebody else's music again. And it's not like I'm trying to do everything I ever like, because there's some things that are out of our range. I mean, we're not Motorhead.

I think that makes sense with your band, it seems like that's what Nada Surf is, is just good songs. And you have your stylistic things that you prefer to do but it's not like ''Oh, THAT sounds like Nada Surf.''
-
Totally. In fact, it sometimes surprises me when someone says that we have a sound at all. If we do, I'm not really conscious of what it is.

"To me, a whole lot happens in Gerry. If you don’t like it, it might drive you crazy. It doesn’t drive me crazy. We’re not trying to compete with the regular cinema next door. A lot of movies don’t want you to have space to drift off and reflect on what you are thinking. Or for you to get lost, which is what this film is about."
